Pick the winner, full stop. Overtime counts, so a tie is nearly impossible (the NFL has had a handful in a decade). Favourites carry short prices — on a -300 favourite you risk 300 units to win 100 — which is why most NFL money goes to the spread instead.
The handicap that makes a mismatch bettable. The favourite gives points (e.g. -4.5 means they must win by 5 or more), the underdog receives them. Both sides are priced near even money, usually around -110, with the bookmaker's margin hiding in that 10. Key numbers matter in the NFL: 3 and 7 are the most common winning margins because of field goals and touchdowns, so a line moving across 3 is a bigger deal than the half-point suggests.
Combined points scored by both teams, overtime included. You bet over or under the posted line — say 44.5. Totals price in offensive pace, quarterback quality, weather (wind hurts passing games more than cold does), and how each defence matches up. Like the spread, both sides sit near even money.
NY Jets hosts CLE Browns in NFL. Kickoff is SUN 1:00 PM EDT, with pre-game odds via Cloudbet.
The NFL is the most heavily bet league in North America, and the pricing reflects it — closing lines are about as efficient as sports betting gets. With only 17 regular-season games per team, every fixture carries playoff weight, and lines move hard on injury reports (especially the quarterback's) published through the week.

Cloudbet currently prices NY Jets as the favourite at roughly 58% implied to win, with CLE Browns at the long end (49%). The spread sits at NY Jets -1.5. The total is set at 40.5, with the over priced near 53% implied — a balanced read on the scoring pace.
How to think about this matchup: NFL spreads are the sharpest lines in the sport, so the edge rarely lives in the headline number. Injury reports drop on a fixed weekly schedule and the line reacts within minutes; weather (wind above ~15 mph suppresses passing) moves totals late in the week. Public money piles onto famous franchises in prime-time slots, which historically nudges value toward the unfashionable side.
