India changed the rules for both products, and the legal section below has the current position. The list further down answers a different question. It shows which reviewed platforms do not name India as restricted. The legal chip sits next to that access answer on every card. Where we do rank, the order is our judgement about this market, not a sort by score. We lead with what we have tested and still stand behind. A commission comes to us when you sign up through the site. The affiliate disclosure bounds it, and it never reaches a fact or a drawback in a review.
Online betting and casino play are banned across India
Online casino games played for money have been banned in India since 1 May 2026. Online sports betting for money has been illegal across the country since the same date. An online casino taking Indian players is breaking Indian law and can be blocked. No sportsbook can lawfully take a bet from India, and banks are barred from processing those payments. The authority behind both positions is the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, through the Online Gaming Authority of India.
The platforms below accept Indian players under their own terms. That is a fact about their terms rather than about Indian law. The legal chip on each card keeps the country's answer in view while you compare.
What to check before you deposit from India
With your location set, each card answers three questions, and they do not come from the same place.
Start with the country. "Does India allow online casinos?" On the sportsbook block it asks about online sports betting. That answer comes from Indian law rather than from the operator, which is what gives it weight.
The operator answers for itself next. "Does this platform accept players from India?" comes from its own terms, and it is the reason a platform appears on this page at all. Sometimes it comes back Unsure, which just means those terms never mention India. Take that as a question for the operator rather than a yes.
The licence question repays a second look. "Does this platform have a licence valid for India?" reads against the licence jurisdiction printed on the card. So you are not taking the operator's word for who regulates it. None of them is an Indian regulator.
Before you go further, check whether the cashier prices in rupees or in a coin you already hold.
